Black history month celebration of diversity and African culture pride as a multi cultural

Intercultural Therapy

Intercultural Therapy feels like talking therapy with a twist—it's all about appreciating the unique aspects and shared experiences in our lives, such as race, culture, language, and all the interesting stuff. I make sure to carry an adult's cultural essence throughout our entire therapy journey.

The core focus lies in addressing issues of inequality, race, and discrimination directly, without overly focusing on an individual's background.

As a practitioner, I am well-versed in the intricacies of diverse cultures, placing significant value on individualism while acknowledging the variations in cultural norms. We work together to dismantle any oppressive undertones and empower you to speak up.

Conventional therapeutic approaches may overlook cultural distinctions. I employ a dynamic combination of therapeutic styles, including integrative, person-centred, and other modalities tailored to individual needs.

In the role of an intercultural therapist, I embody a metaphorical chameleon—possessing knowledge, an open-minded perspective, and a genuine acceptance of differences. Central to this therapeutic approach is the establishment of trust, underscored by my ongoing reflection on personal biases to provide support to individuals across diverse backgrounds.

I have trained in Intercultural Therapy with Mabadiliko Intercultural Therapy and am completing further training in 2024 with The Anti-Discrimination Focus.
